Have you flown into Van Nuys? Runway 16R?I use a product on the airplane (I wash it once each summer because it's a BIG job) that gets dirt off and also applies a little wax in the process. Does a decent job of getting the bugs off, too. BTW, little airplanes like mine are also known as "bug smashers", and one look at the wings explains why.
Oh, and as far as wax goes, The person who mentioned carnuba wax hit the nail on the head.AlexComment

My boss, who is a car-a-holic ( he races his corvette when ever he gets a chance, trailers it to the track, cause it aint exactly street legal I think)
he swears by tutrlewax ICE... and to tell the truth, after seeing that it won't leave that white residue, I believe he is rightIt's Like I've always said, it's amazing what an agnostic can't do if he dosent know whether he believes in anything or not

I love ICE surely since you can use it on plastic trim too.
I used to use NuFinish but it can be a PITA on dark colors. Then I switched to mothers wax 3 or 4 step and that is a bigger PITA. Now I use Ice.Comment

I use whatever the car wash has in their system. I probably wax at least 3 times a year
