Hurricane babies

This is week 35 since Hurricane Ike hit Houston last september.
Power outages lasted from 2-3 days to in some cases nearly 2 weeks.

It's already been observed that there are a spike in numbers of maternity cases due this coming week.

This is reflective of power outages in other places, like NYC in the great blackout 0f 1965 and 1977 resulted in urban myths of large spikes in pregnancies

P.S. my electricity was out for four days, unfortunately, I was out of the country at the time.

Not sure about the rest of you, but the day I'd rather watch TV or putz on my computer instead of doing that with my wife is the day I am dead.

My guess is, it is the 'nothing better to do' in most of your statements, but if that is the reason, then the guy with nothing better to do isn't really doing it right.

What's strange to me is the fact that no birth control method I'm aware of requires electricity.

all you need to do is short out the two slots in any wall outlet in that room. A pair of metal tweezers works well and fits perfectly. DAMHIKT

Wouldn't you want to insulate those tweezers? I would think electrocution is a poor substitute for Viagra!

Not willing to risk my life on it, but I believe if you insert the tweezers in evenly, they will make contact with both the hot and grounded wire at the same time. Electricity wants to follow the path of least resistance and you are a lot more resistant to electrical flow than a nice pair of steel tweezers.

Unless, of course, you're dripping wet in bare feet standing on damp concrete holding a copper pipe.

let me put it this way, if you are barefoot, wet and on damp concrete holding a copper pipe you won't feel like having sex anymore after you trip the breaker, if that was the objective.

OTOH from actual experience the tweezers get hot enough to burn you. I did not have the experience firsthand, my son inserted the tweezers and somehow was not injured. My wife picked up the tweezers off the floor immediately afterwards and got burned for her part in this excercise. Me, I had to just had to change the socket and faceplate.

I have to admit, after playing with those round block/round hole - square block/square hole toys for learning to match shapes he did rather well. He also put my TV remote control into the VCR slot one time. Took me a while to find it.

He didn't qualify it by saying safe, limited damage or costing less than a pair of tweezers and a socket.
