I finally did the dumb thing. After using the dado stock blade, I put back the 10" blade and proceed to cut some board. The first cut was with great difficulty and not up to par. I then realized that I mounted the blade backwards. Well, I learned that it goes on just as easy as the right way.
It's a conspiracy I tell ya!

Ha ha! I put mine on backwards a couple of days ago. Buttoned it up with ZCTP, put away the tools, got the wood to be cut. Took a look at the blade and I'm sure some sort of big question mark appeared above my head.

Couple of months ago a friend wanted me to cut a bunch of laminates for him. We didn't like the first cut, and I told him I needed an 80-teeth blade instead of my 40T.
He got a new 80T from HD, but the first cut from it was still not good enough and he looked at me to sorta say, 'is this the best a TS can do?'. I was puzzled too, but thankfully had the 'aha' moment soon enough : I had reverse installed it !

Of course he was suitable respectful when he saw the real cuts later; come to think of it, the 'reverse' cuts were not all that bad, considering...!

There are some materials like vinyl siding that you get a better cut if you put the blade on backwards. That being said, I put the blade on backwards on my circular saw a few weeks ago when I was prepping the shop floor. It took me a minute to realize it too after I started cutting.

I used to always mount my olshun 24t backwards when I first got it. The printing is on the opposite side from all my other blades. Now I pay attention when I'm putting the green blade on.

I've never cut anything with it backwards though. I usually line up my cutting mark with a corresponding ATB tooth edge.

Haven't done this with a standard blade yet, but I do it quite often with the Dado stack...

Funny... I was reading the troubleshooting section of the BT3100 manual the other day and did notice that "blade is mounted backwards" is one of the causes of "blade makes poor cuts." I thought it was funny, but apparently this isn't too uncommon!

Backward me

I did it with the dado blades. First time I used my new Freud set I somehow put them on backwards. I guess I was so engrossed in getting the right width, I didn't pay enought attention to putting them on. Talk about a terrible cut until I figured out how dumb I was.

Don't remember doing that with a circular blade, but I did mount a BS blade reversed once. Didn't know it was possible until then.
