    Starting Another Slippery Slope

Tonight LOML bought me an early birthday present. She came home with one of these.

I know it is a discontinued machine but then again so is my BT3 and I haven't gone wrong with it.

As a bonus, the lathe came complete with the bed extension. I was just on line to Busy Bee tools ordering a starter set of chisels. I can't wait to get set up and start making square things round.

      Lathe,

      Check.

      Chisels.

      Check...

Oh yeah, now you need something to sharpen those chisels...

Grinder, grinder jig (wolverine maybe?), Aluminum Oxide grinding wheels, dressing tool, calipers, chuck, face shield (safety glasses don't keep the chunks from hitting your face!)....

Oh yeah, and you will want to build a nice cabinet for that lathe, and of course a means to hold your tools, and collect the dust and....

You are so hosed... Welcome to the club!

Congratulations on the new addition. Recommended initial training is to make dowels starting with 6" diameter, down to 1/4", in 1/4" intervals.
