Our weekend plans involve a pretty normal weekend until Sunday night, when I roll out and fire up the Bandera.

I will be smoking up a 12lb brisket, a couple of racks of ribs, and about 7lbs of Jalapeno Cheese Venison Sausage.

LOML and I are getting together with some family members, and serving up some Texas slow pecan smoked BBQ, enjoying those that are still with us, and taking care of the resting places of those that have gone before us...

If everything goes as planned I should be finishing up my bench.

I'd like to do some canoing & fishing, but I hate trying that on holiday weekends. Too many other folks.

Helping the wife get started on the garden. It is supposed to rain once or twice, so plan on taking in one of the new movies (Wolverine or Star Trek) during that time. Otherwise, working around the house and spending time w/ wife and kids. Oh, and shop time.

My mom is supposed to have my sisters birthday party. I don't know which day. I only have Saturday off, and will be working extra the others. On my day off, if not the party, my brother is having an electrician friend of mine out to finish his garage, and I need to go out there to mark where to put some stuff (I have a better idea of future upgrades for my brothers uses, then he does ).
If I have time, I am going to price shingles.
Then there is the one big distraction. A gal, half my age, that came in to see me yesterday. She had to shave to wear the dress she wore.
There isn't enough time for everything. Not enough hours in the day.
She couldn't tell the difference between the escape pod, and the bathroom. We had to go back for her.........................Twice.

              That's not a distraction, that's a priority.

Unless you're talking about having to shave her back or feet.

LOML is in the Army Reserve Band based out of concord NC, they are playing at the Spoleto Festival in Charleston, in the hopes of recruiting some more bandsmen, and to spread the word about the good work the Army is doing these days...

They are giving her a hotel room in North Charleston. I am joining her, sans kids, Saturday, and spending the weekend with her... I am really looking forward to it

Try canoeing where there are gators. Not too many other folks there...

Seriously though... Try different spots. Not sure where you are at in relation to nice bodies of water, but I put in and paddle the shallows at Armand Bayou quite a bit. May end up out there this weekend actually... Depends on what I get done. I HATE having my boat stored in the shop. Gonna take me 2 hours to clean the sawdust out of the boat!

Goint to my MIL and FIL's house. Should be a great weekend. On Sunday we're going to the Indian's Vs. Reds Baseball game. Go Tribe. My wife's family is all Reds fans. Should be good fun, except the Indian's are not doing too well.

I didn't see an option for "Honoring our Military".

I'll be accompaning the Boy Scout Troop as they perform the official flag duties at our community's war memorial.

I am staying home to work on my shop, provided I don't get paged out from work.

I choose staying home and doing chores but really I'll be working on the new home. Gotta put caulk around all the window trim and siding where it meets the trim. Good news is all the siding is installed. Please remember what Memorial Day is all about.
