    European Tour

We're just returned from a couple of weeks driving our car around Europe, including Brussels, the Black Forest, Switzerland and northern Italy. Around 1,200 photographs in all, so a fair bit of selecting and whittling down to do first! I'll put up some of the better ones later on, but here's a taste (click to enlarge):

Very nice picture Ray. My dad toured Austria back in the 50's and I have inherited his collection of slides from the trip. Many pictures in the mountains.

Lovely. I spent a week in the Sudtirol a few years ago in a rented cabin, near where the "frozen man" was found--absolutely idyllic. I enjoyed my Air Force stint in Germany to no end.

I even got to drive on the wrong side of the road in Britain!

Those wacky Euro's. Half drive on the wrong side of the road, and the others park at 90 degress to the lines.

Looks like a great place to visit Ray!

What kind of car is that in the foreground? A Vauxhall?

LOML and I had a planes, trains, and automobiles vacation last summer in Germany and Austria. We drove along Bodensee and into the Schwarzwald to Freiburg.

Can't wait to see your always-excellent pics, Ray!

Great pic. In fact, it looks like an ad for a luxury car maker.

                        Dream trip

That would be a dream trip for my wife and I. My ancestors were Swiss and hers German. We would love to vacation there sometime. Right now I would love to vacation almost anywhere though.

I look forward to more pictures.

No - go here and click on "Superb" on the second row of tabs. Mine is the 170BHP CR DSG. It returned 48 miles per (Imperial) gallon overall (approx 40 miles per US gallon), which is great for a car of its size and performance.

Mine has the solar sunroof (which circulates air in the interior when parked in hot conditions without affecting the vehicle battery), adaptive headlights (differing beam patterns in town, country and rainfall - automatically), front and rear parking sensors and "Park Assist" (automatic "hands-off" parallel parking - fun to watch!), automatic dimming mirrors (all three), 10-speaker uprated sound system with SatNav (30GB hard drive for music storage, plus an SD card slot and options for other audio connections), automatic cell-phone Bluetooth pairing of up to 3 'phones, umbrella in the rear door and the totally unique "TwinDoor" trunk (saloon and hatchback options built into one clever design). The design has been licensed to BMW for their new 5 Series models, so you'll see it soon enough, although you can't buy my car in North America, AFAIK.

Can you tell I like it? For more pictures of the car, click here.
