I booked our flights for our July trip 2 months ago. Because I used a companion certificate (buy one get one) I had to book mine and one daughter's flight then book my wife's and the other daughter's separately. I split the kids up just in case Delta screwed up and somehow put us on separate flights. Today I got an email saying that my wife's flight had changed but not one for mine. I was suspicious so I called Delta. After getting transferred twice and both to the wrong place I got transferred to a rep who told me that my flight had been cancelled.
However he couldn't do anything about fixing the problem. Two more transfers and more explanations later I finally got mine and my daughter's flight rebooked.
The irony of all this is the flights we are rebooked on were the ones I originally tried to get but couldn't because of various restrictions on using the awards ticket and air miles.
