    Rifle Scopes

A friend called me asking if I wanted a scope for my Marlin 60. It's a Winfield 4x15. I like the sport of just using sights. The Marlin has adjustable open rear, and a ramp front sight. The receiver is grooved for scope mounting, so there would be no modifications necessary. Thought I might try it out.

I can't find much data on this scope. Anyone know anything about it, or have suggestions on something better?

4 x 15, seems like alot of scope for a .22. I have a pump action Remington .22 that has an old Redfield straight 4x scope which always seemed enough. Have never heard of a Winfield scope. I have a Burris 3x9 on a .243 which is good for hunting but sometimes wish I had something more in the range of 4 x 15 when using it for target shooting.

How pin-point are you trying to get? One reason I wish for more magnification and/or a finer reticile over my 3x9 is that the reticile at 200 yards covers nearly 4". I can't accurately aim at a 1" spot.

is that 4-15x zoom (doubtful) or a 4x (4 power) scope with a 15mm objective lens (probably).
will be pretty dim compared to a 30mm objective but OK for broad daylight i'm sure.
i don't think 4x is too much for a .22 (if that's what the rifle is) but 15x probably would be.

Loring has it correct it is 4x with a 15mm objective if it were variable power it would be 4-15x15.

        Here is one on ebay

I think it would work nice on a .22
