Lost fans?

The guy who plays Jack was on Jimmy Kimmel last night and he said the producers have already told him how the show will end.

I've heard writers and cast members contradict each other on this matter. I heard one writer on NPR maybe 1.5 years ago essentially say that they were spending all their time on continuity and didn't have enough time to plan very far ahead. And as recently as a month or so ago Michael Emerson said he was surprised by the script for this season's finale.
