As some of you may recall, one of my passions aside from woodworking is 4x4s. My current pride and joy is a 2004 Ford F150 XLT Supercab 5.4L which has a lot of work into it.

I have been itching for some big mud tires for the pickup for several years now... But those BFG All Terrains I had just refused to wear out... Well they finally wore out, and I got a good deal on tires... Now I am not into huge lifts, I like it nice and conservative. So here it is...

2004 F150 4x4 2.5" leveling kit (front end only lift) fitted with 35x12.50/17 Hercules Trail Digger MTs. I had to trim the plastic front valance, and adjust the inner fender a hair with a large hammer... But clearance is no problem. Even with the 9" wide rims...

I don't get it - ARB does not make air lockers for the F150 ? How come? They do for the Tacoma and even pathfinders...?!?

I haven't seen longhorns attached to anything taller than a Caddilac in years...

And no, no drop bumper... Not gonna happen either...

And even though I live in Texas, doesn't mean I am a native... I am a misplaced Oregonian that had to flee when things from down south started moving up... But we won't go there as it would get political VERY quickly...

On the ARB air locker problem, I have the 5.4L which comes factory equipped with the Ford 9.75" rear end, and ARB does not have a locker for that, yet... Guys with the 4.6L V-8 got the 8.8, which ARB has lockers for all day long... I know a couple of guys with the 97-03 trucks with ARB out back. AWESOME grip...

Rumors on F150Online.com say they are testing 9.75" prototypes as we speak, with plans to be in production before the end of the year...

I have no intentions whatsoever of getting rid of my truck. I know it is now the "old" model, but it is just getting to where I am real comfortable with it...

From what I understand, there is a locker available for the 8.8" front, but I am not sure I want to lock an IFS front end... I am thinking Detroit True Trac up there...
