2 friends and I were at Woodstock in '69. Could get high just breathing the air!
I remember Cocker well. None of us had ever seen him live. We kept yelling to each other (over the loud music): What's wrong with him? What did he say? Is he spastic? What did he say? Is he on something? What did he say?
Best time I ever had in 4 days! Should have gone on longer!
This is a great site for remembering for those who were there, or for learning what it was all about for those who weren't:
It took me about two more years to catch onto all of the "Woodstock" stuff.
I vividly remember my freshman year in college (70) walking back across the parking lot from the homecoming football game listing to Country Joe McDonald and his cheer. It resonated all the way across campus, followed by campus security trying to find the source of the embarrassment.
College in 1970 was the introduction to lots of interesting stuff. Went to a concert with three acts, Jan & Dean, BB King and Quicksilver Messenger Service. BB King stole the show.
And then there is lots not to talk about on a family oriented web site. Oh My the trip down memory lan today!
That was great. Cleared up a lot of questions I've always had about evolution and UFO's. Now, if they could do the same type of recreation for Bob Dylan, Arlo Guthrie, and Ozzy Osbourne, I would appreciate it. I think the problem is a large piece of slow dissolving hard rock candy.

Hey, Mildoc, I was there also. I don't remember seeing you, are you sure you were there:-)
You know they say if you remember it, you weren't really there.
I went with 2 girls (both platonic, unfortunately), and my bronze colored
'62 4 door Chevy. Besides 'outside influences', I was never very good at directions, so I ended up going in through a back entrance because I came into town the wrong way. Best mistake I ever made! I was parked about 150 yards from the stage for the whole concert! As I was leaving at the end, dozens of people were hopping onto the car trying to get a ride to the surrounding roads. When one jumped on the hood right in front of me so I couldn't see, I asked him nicely to get off. As he jumped off, he replied 'fascist pig'!.
I get chills just thinking about it!
You don't need a parachute to skydive, you only need a parachute to skydive twice.
If we're going to revisit our "lost" youth and the greatest of times during the late '60s and early '70's (and I'm not talking about the war). log into this link http://www.techwebsound.com/
It's streaming radio of music only from that time, including some ads and concert announcements. Including the occasional rock band ads to enlist in the Army (try to figure that one out).
Check it out, its worth the "trip".
