    Do You Tweet?

    On Twitter?

I don't really see the point. I do not have hubris enough to think someone would be interested in "Having my morning tea right now" and other such posts.

I don't, but the way I see it is that it could be a good way to keep in contact with friends and family without having to.. you know.. talk to them. win-win right?

I don't know who really cares about what people are doing every minute of the day. Frankly I think it's a waste of time.

I refuse to look at the Twitter site. Although, I'm not sure what I'm typing here (right now) is any better.

No, I think of it as real-time narcissism.

I don't think people need that kind of detail. And I read recently that it can dull your sense of morality. (http://www.cnn.com/2009/TECH/ptech/0...udy/index.html)

BTW, I'm off to go take a leak now.

Don't do Face Book, My Space or Twitter or any of the other ego things. I have no reason or need to. I like being private, this way any skeltons stay in the closet.

Well said. Those sites are great for folks who need their egos stroked and otherwise don't have a life beyond their own need to feel important. I get more enjoyment by picking splinters out of my fingers.

I facebook so that I can keep in touch with old friends that I havn't seen in a long time. Sometimes I post a status update for a laugh ( ie: "Richard just ran out of scotch!" ), but I never take things too serious.

I never Tweeted or Twittered, or whatever that thing is. But I did join Facebook so I could see photos of family members. Never got to see them because my cousin couldn't figure out how to get them posted for viewing.

When the Internet was getting big, my name was out there (but not in a
bad way). My dad actually lectured me on the subject because 1) I was
in college and he felt I had better things to do with my time than waste his
tuition money and 2) who the heck knows what kind of people are going to
see this. Now with the advent of massive computer systems with backups,
some of your old information never goes away--good or bad.

On CBS's Sunday Morning, there was a commentary on Twitter (jurors were
actually tweeting while sitting in court!). She finished up by saying, "What
do you call people who use Twitter and tweet? Twits?"

                          Glad to be anonymous,
                          Paul (haha)

Only if I eat beans, but I've been told it ain't very Tweet.

As for FaceBook, I don't see the point in talking to some A-Hole that hasn't called me in 20 years. But then I've been told I'm crotchetty? Go figure.

I don't tweet or text. I have an account on Facebook for selected friends and my nieces, nephews and cousins. I don't allow people I'm connected with professionally to be my "friends" because I don't want to be explaining who all the family members are and why so many of them happen to be young females.
