      I did suggest maybe we should just frame in the porch and make the kitchen there, no joy on that idea.

      I climbed up in the attic last night to look at that wall, no double top plates and I could push on the trusses where they touched the wall and they moved so it isn't under load.

      Anyway, we discussed it some more and we agreed that we were not going to engage in a train wreck like you see on DIY, etc. As such I have set a prelim schedule. First is planning, lots of it, drawings, logistics, materials, etc to make sure it is going to work. That lasts until mid June. Most of the work is mine but I don't mind doing that. LOML has to rough sketch out her floorplan and finalize what she wants. Maybe I'll get her into Sketchup, she is good at things like that.
