    Needed: an 8/16 inch wrench

Of all the tools that I have, I do not own an 8/16 inch wrench. I have a 7/16 and a 9/16.

Back story: Last fall in the Windstorm that blew through this part of Ohio, our daughters trampoline was destroyed. We finally got the replacement trampoline and set out to put it together. The directions listed the need of said 8/16 wrench, and I did not have the correct wrench.

Fortunately, my quick thinking daughter informed me that a 1/2 inch wrench should work.

96 springs and one safety net later, there is a very happy jumper in the backyard.

The sad thing is, someone probably could advertise a set of "odd" shaped wrenches--2/16, 4/16, 8/16, etc and people would buy them.

With so many things made oversea's, there is a good chance that a 13mm wrench would have worked.

Oddly enough the box proclaims the trampoline was designed and engineered in America. Manufactured in China. I guess they outsourced the technical writing (directions) as well. Math superiority?

Gonna go see if I have a 16/32 wrench, that might of worked too......

I think you should be able to grind 1/16 off of the 9/16 and it will be an 8/16 wrench.

It is too difficult to measure 1/16 of an inch, there must be hundreds of them in an inch!

Using anything other than an 8/16" wrench will probably void all warranties.
If you can read this you assembled wrong.

If you wouldn't have been able to substitute the 1/2" wrench perhaps you could have substituted a 1/4W or 5/16BS wrench out of your British tool box ans still saved the day.

Let me get my Jointer and Planer out. I have a 16/16" board laying that I could make a 8/16 out. I think is Brazilian Cherry which is as hard as steel, at least the piece I have

I don't know about you guys, but that wrench is the one I always seem to lose. Same goes for the 1/2".
