    The Happy Moog

If you're not familiar with the Moog Synthesizer, it's an analog electronic music synthesizer that makes all the sounds you will hear. It came out in the mid to late 60's, and is quite unique. Enjoy it here.

From the recent posts on Disneyland parks, the MSEP sound track was entirely done on Moog synthesizer:

Maybe the main street elecrical parade dates me but i always loved it. For those like me, enjoy this:

I've still got my original LP copy of Switched-on Bach which Walter/Wendy Carlos did in '68. One of the first big albums done with a Moog Synthesizer. Amazing what the Carlos team managed to pull out of the Moog back in those pre-midi days.

Yup, the Moog opened up a whole new can of musical possibilities.

I love the Moog, but in my opinion it should not be used to make music like that. Nothing should be used to make music like that. Reminds me of plaid leisure suits. JMO.

Emerson, Lake & Palmer used the Moog quite a bit. Was very cumbersome on tour but a very unique sound at the time.

Hard to believe Kingsley is 86... Where has my life gone??

Here is another tune that will rattle around in your heads for a while... Unfortunately, the video itself tells its own say story, but thanks to the copyright watchdogs, it's just about the truest public domain recording I could locate quickly. The Moog clears its pipes at about 3:15 in the video, and then lets it rip a few seconds later. An amazing instrument...
