LOML works just as many hours as I do so I help around the house with chores like the laundry. In doing a batch tonight, I was thinking of when I can install my solar powered clothes dryer. It doesn't work too well in Canadian winter.

I'm actually finishing up the laundry right now. Since LOML has problems with stairs as well as other things, I do the lion's share of the housework. No, we don't have a solar powered dryer, but that would be cool!

We had one growing up. I don't ever plan to have one now, although my weather is much more suited to it than Canada.David

Boss has been after me for several years to install one. Problem is the black dirt we have is so unstable that it would be hard to keep the posts up.Don, aka Pappy,

Still have and use one. In fact, I am probably one of the few in the neighborhood, that still does.
I went to the dollar store, the other day to get a clothespin bag, and I thought they undercharged me. They stated they were on closeout.
It does come in handy for taking out rags (fire hazzard), and allowing them to air dry.She couldn't tell the difference between the escape pod, and the bathroom. We had to go back for her.........................Twice.Comment

We have a retractable clothes line in our patio. Although i live in Hawaii in Hilo, we have 100+ inches of rain per yr. that's Y our clothes line is located in our patio. My wife refuses to buy a dryer. she prefer to use the line. Saves us $$$$ cause utilities are high here. Yeah. i married a country girl.

If it's cold enough, the solar drier will eliminate your need for starch in anything....as long as you don't go into any heated spaces with it.You don't need a parachute to skydive, you only need a parachute to skydive twice.Comment

Man, you must have gotten the cheap model. Our would leave the clothes 'sunshine fresh' in the summer and would even starch the shirts in the winter.Comment

I can remember shoveling the snow from under the solar powered dryer. Frozen sheets could break if bent and socks forever had a strange toe. I expect that northern Minnesota was at least as cold as where you are, kids these days just can't take it like we did in them olden days.....
