    My New Shop

    I left a deposit today.

The purchase price includes all the cabinets, workbenches, etc inside and he has a crew that will help with the demo to cut it into manageable chunks.

My wife was the one who found the link and told me to go get it.

Well that was fast. I just got home. I can see the ad. Here are the pics.

16x24, already wired and insulated, it includes the screened porch. Inside there is a separate room that is currently an office but I will use as a finishing room I think,

That's going to be a nice shop. And you can sit out on the porch with a beer once all the work is done for the night.

Now to be completely honest with you, I wish I had the space for something like that, let alone a building like that... If you really want to make yourself sick, check out the 2009 edition of Americas Best Home Workshops... There are guys there with workshops nearly as big as my house!

He did offer me the fridge that was in the back room. But then he remembered it was broken.

Very nice haul Crockett. I am assuming that it is some type of modular or metal trussed type building to be broken down? Will you have to reroof?

Therein lies the question. Building is stick built, but I have a plan. Shingles are 4 yrs old. Roof is rafters+collar ties. Will it be possible to knock the sheathing off from the inside to save as many shingles as possible or is it easier just to do a tearoff and reroof at my house?

How far away from your house is this located.

You might be able to cross brace the building, lift it from the foundation. Set it down on a flat bed truck and move it to your house The question is right of way clearance and site access.

Have done this a couple of different times with building shells for garages.

Nice shop building. If the fridge is very big, take it. Add some adjustable shelving and you have a paint storage locker.

About 12 miles. Can't get it out in one piece, there is a fence and some trees in the way.
