My father in-law bought himself one of these and has offered his old utility trailer to me. It has a four by seven bed with rails around all sides. I'm not sure what the load rating is but I do know that he has had around 1000lbs of dirt in it. The best part is the price-free. And I already know how nice it tows behing my Escape. I took it camping twice last summer. Now I have a way to pick up all the needed materials for the home reno's I ( read LOML) have been planning.

I have seen more than a few folding utility trailers, but never before have I seen one that folds sideways...
I used to have a 4x8 folding trailer that I got from Northern Tool that I would tow with my old Ford Ranger, Since I had the pickup, I would haul all my goodies, and nearly everyone else's for singles group camping trips when I was single...Please like and subscribe to my YouTube channel. The small trailers, like 4x8, are a great convenience. For space savings, the HF folding trailer is a great idea. About 15 years ago I bought a 4x4 trailer that was used as a race car tire/toolbox carrier for $50. I took the deck and top rails off and re-framed it for a 4x8, and used a sheet of 3/4" marine ply for the deck.
What a life saver. Easy to load and unload, and still light enough to stand up on the back end. I've even stored it on it's side on a dolly, so it can be moved around.

Nice score! I too picked up a trailer "kit" a few years back - it's one of those that folds in half (the short way) for convenient storage. The thing paid for itself in runs to the town dump alone in about a year and a half (I think we were paying $18 a month for garbage pickup).
Funny thing is, the town to this day still assesses the thing (for tax purposes) at more than I paid for it. Go figure.Comment
