    Sitting At Home Today

And I can't even get to the shop. LOML would kill me if I tried. This morning, after about an hour at work, I went to move an empty pallet and out went my back. Fortunately I am able to get in to see my doctor after lunch. So for now I'll just try and stay comfortable for the next few hours. I'm ok until I have to move....anything.

Here's hoping you heal quickly, Richard. I know what it's like to just turn the wrong way, and have something like that happen.

Man, that's no fun at all. Bad pain. I was in traction for 2 weeks in the late 70's after installing a two part king size platform bed, up a spiral staircase. It wasn't the stairs that did it. Once both halves were in the bedroom, had to assemble it upside down to install lighting, and when flipping it over... SNAP. There went a disc. Found out the surgery couldn't promise anything definitively positive, so I just live with it. Gotta be careful. Can't twist and lift.

Hers's hoping for your speedy recovery.

Been to see the doctor. Good news is no real damage. Bad news is I'm going to hurt for a few days at least. Good news is I get to take it easy at work for the rest of the week. Bad new is I am sure it will keep me out of the shop too. Good new is I just picked up a new bottle of scotch over the weekend. Doctor did say that I would be able to pick up some thing for the pain off the shelf

Don't hurt yourself further lifting that bottle. Remember, once you're 'feeling no pain' doesn't mean that it won't come back even harder the next morning.

Richard, glad that there is no big damage. Back pain is one of those things that stays for a long time (with or without bottle).

BTW, are you planning to go to CHW show in Toronto? Would be nice to meet you there.

My days of lifting the bottle too many times are way past. Take me out for a night on the town and I'll be a cheap date.

Glad to hear there's nothing major wrong. Just take it easy for a while.

                      Sounds like you already did...

I feel your pain, bro. Been there, done that. Unlike C'Man, my back surgery did the trick. No pain at all now, and very little loss of mobility, unless I forget and try lifting something greater than 100#. My back issue was a little different than a disk, though...

Like most of the rest of us, been there, done that!

I know the hardest thing in the world is sitting still for me, so do as I say, not as i do! Feel Better!

Last night I think I was feeling a little ambitious when I thought I would be going to work this morning. It took me 15 minutes just to get dressed and forget about getting back upstairs to brush my teeth. I have to hang on to things just to stay sanding with out too much pain and I can only sit for around ten minutes before I have to shift again. I'll be calling the doctors later this morning and try to head back in. Thanks for all the good thoughts guys.

Sure sounds like what I go through when my discs are irritated. I have 2 bad in the lower back and 3 in my neck. When it is really bad I get a steroid pack. Gets the inflamation down and under control again, until I get to feeling macho and do something stupid.
