Gotta tell you guys... This one just hit me so hard. I got 3 little grandsons, and their mother used to beat the heck outta them (until we found out about it). One of them is autistic and profoundly retarded, and we found him beaten and bloody from a belt. How she managed to conceal it so well is a mystery to me. (They lived 1000 miles away from us...). Now she's in the loony bin, and my son has started a new life here with his two youngest, while my ex is raising the autistic one (he's my buddy ). And they are all so loving and happy now. When I came across that article, I just lost it... I have not been right since. I got in the car this morning and drove across town just to hug the stuffings outta my grandsons...

My heart just goes out to that precious little baby... If only somebody had seen the signs...

I was Medical Director of a Child Abuse Clinic for 13 years. handled over 16,500 referrals in that time, including over 400 child deaths from any cause you can name. I've talked with hundreds of parents who abused or severely neglected their kids, including many who killed them.

They all say "I didn't intend too...."

And all I can say is anyone should have known better.

Wow, Paul, I'm glad you were there to help. I know there's no way I could do something like that for 13 weeks, let alone 13 years knowing it's just going to keep happening...

Hopefully you were able to vastly improve the lives of the children you were treating.
