    Is this a real price?

I didn't want to post this in Bargain Alerts because I don't know if there's a misplaced comma or too many zeroes or what. Seen on CL this morning:

SnapOn tri bank toolbox, hutch, side cabinet & steel top, worth $16,000 and selling for $14,000. Please don't flag this it's real.

Looks like the pic didn't copy. Oh well.

My mechanic's shop burned a couple years back and he lost a lot of his stuff. His cabinets survived but he had to hammer some dents out and repaint them. I asked why not get new ones. He told me what a replacement cabinet costs. That is a real price.

There is no mechanical problem so difficult that it
cannot be solved by brute strength and ignorance.

Yeah, it makes sense. It must take all week for them there mechanics to make $10K to buy a tool chest.

                That's the one!

I do know my father (diesel truck mechanic) spent years paying off his two small ones.

OTOH, when I moved one-third of his tools, it was a significant load in my 3/4 ton Suburban.

I used to wrench, and can tell you in the area I was in, it wasn't worth the risk to own a Snap-on cabinet (screams steal me). We had one guy who had to have one, and it was mostly empty, (can't afford tools and the box starting out), verses an in law of my brothers, who bought one used, close to retirement.

Used, on the high side, they go for around half. I've said for years, that I thought it would be a good woodworking project, to build one (also as a bench), and it wouldn't scream steal me.
She couldn't tell the difference between the escape pod, and the bathroom. We had to go back for her.........................Twice.
