I came back from lunch to find 56 messages in my work inbox. The first was from a person asking for rights to change the access list to the mail server. The other 55 were from people replying to the original note and CCing the entire mail server list that the send-to mail ID the original person used sends to everybody on the mail server. Do you suppose I should send just one more note and CC all the user iDS on the mail server? I mean, they might not have gotten it the other 55 times.
What Should I Do?!

Lock the list so only you can send to it then reply..
I've had this happen before.. Some got so desperate to reply that they expanded the list membership and pasted in all the addresses.. What did they say?? "Take me off this list and Stop replying to this message"

Got back from a meeting a bit ago and there were 40 more replies to all, each one telling everybody else not to reply to all....David

you need to reply to the entire list with a 10, no make that a 20 MB file with illustrations explaining how to reply to e-mails, so that the server can get overloaded and fill up everyone's mailboxes when they reply again.Loring in Katy, TX USA

I would print out a complete set for each person and send them though interoffice mail. At 96 pages, you might need to put them in binders.online at http://www.theFrankes.com

That happens to me all the time. I do consulting and it happens at client sites about 3-4 times a year. Odds are I'm offsite when it happens.
This is what I used to do:
I'd leave one of 'em in my inbox, and wait for a few days for everything to settle down. When I'm at that location for routine work, I'd reply with "Looks like we're having some E-Mail problems that nobody told me about. Will whomever receives this E-Mail please reply so I can track the problem down?"
Then it would start all over again.
I don't do it any more because of the number of portable E-Mail gadgets in use. No sense is causing traffic accidents.Comment

Can you suspend his email account for a couple of days, until he learns?
