Okay, I'm interested in doing this, especially since I had a machine get "rootkitted" a couple of weeks ago. Downloaded Ubuntu 8.10 this morning. Right now, we are using LEAP w/WPA2 on our APs until I can get a better authentication scheme set up. So far, Ubuntu won't authenticate. Any suggestions?

I am using LEAP and WPA2 at work and it works just fine on the spare laptop. All I did was right-click the Network Icon on the taskbar, then click 'Edit Connections' and click the Wireless tab. Then it found my company's AP, I selected the security connection to be LEAP, gave it my username and password and was good to go. At home it was even easier.

*edit* oh yeah, I think I had to tell it to find the hidden network and then it worked.

Exactly what I've done. I think I'll go into the wireless controller and update my password. That's done the trick for me before.

It might make a difference. I had to reset my password before configuring the connection because I couldn't remember it. My Windows laptop is set to autoconnect so the only time I ever type it in is when the password expires and I have to reset it.
