    Your post is only the second place I have seen or heard the term brass monkeys. What they heck is that all about?
    Urban Dictionary says it is an alcoholic beverage or a reference to a man's (or at least a brass monkey's) anatomy. Given the characters on M*A*S*H, either one would fit.
