So I'm cleaning up the computer downstairs

Getting rid of old files, etc. Is it safe to assume that a program I downloaded in 2002 has an update by now, if I ever wanted to install it again?

For instance I found the installer for Firefox v1.0x.

The chief cause of failure in this life is giving up what you want most for what you want at the moment.

Depends on what it is. I have a bunch of old stuff I downloaded in the late 90s, open source stuff that the project is no longer being maintained. IF I can find the most recent version, both source, and binary, or at the very least source code, I will grab it, test it, and if it works well keep that one and chuck the old one. But for example, if it is maybe something like the old Epson scanner printer for a scanner I got rid of 5 years ago... Well why bother?

David, don't you specialize in disk recovery, or something like that
