    Use A D.D.

Shouldn't have to say this guys, but if you decide to indulge any where but at home tonight, please stay out of the drivers seat. I want to converse with you in the new year.

Good advice. I won't have anything stronger than coffee, myself.

We've spent almost every New Year's Eve up here at Tahoe since 1984. We have dinner, drink a little champagne...and go to bed sometime between 9 and 11 PM. No big celebrations. When the new millenium arrived (2000), we watched the TV coverage.

We're not big drinkers but we know enough to stay away from those who do. Besides, it's more fun to watch the snow when you're not out in it.

Back in my mis-spent 20's amateur night was not a big hit for me. After that I spent a couple of years as a Reserve police officer writing DUI tickets. I've ever since not even had one drink if I was to be driving anywhere. I don't know how things are in other areas but around here the local police and Sheriff's office are more than happy to give party goers a free ride home rather than have to take them to jail or worse respond to a MVA. Great advice Richard, hope all our members have a safe New Years!

No drinking here tonight, but plenty of fireworks. Hmmm, is there such a thing as a designated lighter?

Seriously, I hope everyone has a happy AND safe New Year, no matter how you celebrate it.

I stay home on evenings like this. Too many amatuer drunks out there tonight for us pros to deal with!

I'm on call tonight, but I did get invited to a party at a friend's who also happens to be a cop. Hopefully I won't get too drunk and disorderly at the party...

I thought you were talking about Attention Deficit Disorder... Probably won't hurt me to pay no attention tomorrow to what I'm gonna do tonight...

as a certain comedian once said:
'I read a book that said drinking was bad for you. That's when I quit reading.'

I was always the DD and my friends didn't mind. I have this thing about sleeping in my own bed and always wanted to be sober enough to make it home.
