    Cordless Hammer from Sears

No! Really! It's 12 Volt Lithium-Ion powered and if you order today you can have it in time for Christmas. Only at Sears.

I know, it's not nice to make fun of.... and I can already see a use for it too.

Bill, not yet desperate for Christmas gifts

Same principle as a palm nailer. I could actually see some use for it, but not eough to justify a C note.

I've used a pneumatic palm nailer several times in tight spaces, so I can see a use for this (if it works), but the long periods it would sit between uses would probably not bode well for a battery tool.

It's Li-on so as long as it has a partial charge when you store it (the way all Li-on should be stored) you should be able to pick it up 6-8 months later and it will work just fine for almost as long as it would have on that amount of charge as when you stored it. Li-on has virtually no self-discharge, unlike Nicad and NMHi.

6-8 months might be too short an interval for one of those things. I probably don't have need of my palm nailer but every couple years. Pretty specialized tool.

Did anyone get the latest WOOD magazine? Craftsman is releasing a table saw with a laser on it. Seriously, where will this end?

I wonder what size battery you need for an 8 lb sledge version?

You know, he means they're not electric- powered. That is, they've been powered by the strange attraction force between the hammer head and the user's thumb that's been powering hammers forever.

How many bad corded tool purchases have people made over the years, that they converted into hammers?

I wonder how many people will by this and end up just hitting the nail with it

BTW I have a very rare left handed hammer which I could let go for only $1500. It comes from the same company as the left handed screwdriver and the striped paint.

every previous alliteration of the hammers I own!

don't be so quick to make the left-handed hammer a joke, Ridgid "sold" (maybe tried is a better term) ergonomic hammers a few years ago that were L and R handed.
