    What Else Is Gonna Happen?

    Yesterday, discovered the GFCI in the shop that feeds the shed keeps tripping. I disconnected the load and it didn't so there is a problem somewhere I need to find. Tonight, leaky pipe. I was able to install a ball valve before the leak so house has water, but not the kitchen or upstairs baths. I ran a hose from outside so we could flush the toilets. I don't have the parts to fix, so will go get them in the morning.

    I think you live in "the money pit".

      It seems that all houses are nothing but very large money pits! A place that you always are having to throw MONEY into by the handfulls!

        OK
        Small Plumbing problem
        Small electrical problem

        So what can happen next
        Since it is starting to get cold, Furnace or gas problem.
        Fireplace chimney or flue problem
        Animal in the chimney
        More animals moving into the house.

        Since it is also a holiday week;
        Stove or oven problems
        Sink or disposal problems
        Kitchen drain problems
        Electrical problems in the kitchen
        electrical problems in the Entertainment center
        TV / Cable /Satellite problems
        Furniture breakdown

        Then since it is fall;
        Leaves causing problems in the yard
        Leaves causing water problems for the basement
        Flooding in the basement

        And we haven't even started on computer issues

        Or

        Shop tool problems.

        Be thankful for your small problems, they could be large ones.

            You forgot the well pump breaking or the septic field starting to leak....

            Sorry I forgot the smilies on this thread. My wife doesn't agree that the plumbing problem is a 'small' one. She was not happy when I told her it would not get fixed until this morning, especially since we have company coming tomorrow.

            I'm still trying to figure out why it started leaking now. All the original plumbing is sweated copper and has been here 30 years. My best guess is the work I was doing on the new bathroom back in March loosened a fitting or something. I decided since I have to repair it anyway I am going to take the opportunity to add the stubs for when I move one of the bathrooms upstairs.

                  She's probably been watching me when I have a plumbing problem. There's no such thing as a small problem when it comes to plumbing.
