    Sad news (Wall Street)

I was watching the Chicago news tonight, and they told of a man who committed suicide. He had lost millions since things went to h*ll. I don't think that has happened since the Great Depression.

That is sad, but normal healthy people don't typically take their lives because of financial failure, or any non-physical failure for that matter. I'm guessing there were many other factors involved...
Happiness is sort of like wetting your pants....everyone can see it, but only you can feel the warmth.

I am thinking there were other factors involved also. I also don't think he will be the last one to do this.

The chief cause of failure in this life is giving up what you want most for what you want at the moment.

I agree. I doubt it's ever just about losing wealth. But that might be the last straw for some people.

At the very least, someone that would commit suicide because they lost their fortune must have lived a pretty miserable life.

Had a friend lose his job a couple weeks ago. He told me "As long as you still have your health and family you are still doing well." The more I thought about that, the more I realized how true it was.

To throw an old TV quote out there..

"I don't care how much money a man has, as long as he has family... he's rich."

              Colonel Sherman T. Potter. M.A.S.H.

It would seem pretty obvious this person's priorities were in the wrong place. Sure we need to make a living. But gaining or losing millions doesn't make your life worth living or not. If you think it is, well...
