    weather.com rant...

Okay this is a stupid fuss on my part, but I want to know what to expect when I emerge from this building this afternoon...

Todays weather, clear with a high of 83 degrees. Click Hour by Hour tab.

    Current temperature. 93 degrees.

If the high for the day is 83 degrees, how can it be currently 93 freaking degrees people?!

I swear they let software say stupid things for them...

You could always just go outside and see what the weather is. Or look out a window.

Reap the benefit of your tax dollars. Set up a bookmark to your zip code with the NWS. I use wunderground and intellicast for some things, but for quick, basic up to date information, the ad & animation free NWS is where it's at. I swore off the Weather Channel site years ago when they added flash advertising that included sound with no option to turn it off...not good in cube city.

At least weather.com gives correct weather for my area. accuweather lumps my town into a bigger town 15 miles away. microclimates from topography in the area will create a 20* difference in temp and I'll be socked in with fog while the other is hot and sunny. more then likely accuweather just uses the airport reports around my region.

              i prefer wunderground.

What bugs me is when we were getting alerts like "Tornado spotted 15 miles SW of [some tiny local town that people have only vaguely heard of but know one really knows where it is]" -- but there's no scale on their maps!
