That would be assuming a lot about their ability to read. (again, the 'good employees' excepted, you know who you are)You don't need a parachute to skydive, you only need a parachute to skydive twice.Comment

I have actually benefited by the laziness of store managers on a couple of occassions.
When a product didn't ring up correctly (shoud have been $35 instead of $50), rather than do the math, the manager gave it to me for $20! Go figure!
Another time, I b**tched about them not having something on sale that was supposed to be. He was so tired of listening to me, I guess, that he discounted a product I was buying from $179 to $100, just to get me 'off his back'. (the nerve of me, asking him to do his job!)
Actually, this was 2 different managers at 2 different stores, so maybe it's 'store policy':-)You don't need a parachute to skydive, you only need a parachute to skydive twice.Comment

I guess my local HD might be the exception.
My local Home Depot has been around longer than I have lived in the area and at first it was a terrible place to shop. About 6 years ago they "cleaned house" from the manager right down to the department heads. Since then I have never gone into the store without being greeted by every employee that I see and I am brought right to the item that I'm looking for by every employee that I've asked. They seem to change managers about every 2 years but the service has not declined one bit. Perhaps the regional manager is a real stickler but I doubt it because there are 4 other stores within 25 miles of this one and they are not as service oriented as this one.Comment
