One of a few stars who kept his integrity amidst the fame. I read an anecdote recently, perhaps in Readers Digest. A woman walked into a small town ice cream store, perhaps in Connecticut, to get an ice cream cone. As she waited for the cone, she noticed Newman sitting at a table. She got all flustered, trying to decide whether to tell him how much she liked his movies, then decided to just let him enjoy a little privacy. As she started out the door, she realized that she didn't have her ice cream cone. Puzzled, she turned back and looked for it at the counter. Newman spoke up with a smile. "It's in your purse."

A remarkable actor, a remarkable person.

He will be missed by many. Young and old have admired his acting and him as a person with being just another human being without the high class act. May he R I P........

Cool Hand Luke, Cat On A Hot Tim Roof, and The Hustler are my favorites (In no particular order).

One of the things I caught on the news today was that in an interview he once said his three greatest passions were Joanne, racing, and his food company. The company because almost all of the profits went to support his charity work.

There is now a void in the universe that cannot be filled.

Anyone remember "Nobodys Fool" ? That's one of my fav's because it was filmed in the town I live in. They wanted a run down looking town

The scene when Paul punches out the cop has my house centered in the background of the shot.
