    Windows XP pro,SP3 help

I know there are some very knowledgible computer geeks in this forum. Geeks being used in a most flattering form....
    so...........
How can I set my program to open all windows maximized?? They used to do that but, since yesterday, everything opens to a strange size. Just shorter than normal, not what I would consider normal anyway.
I can maximize each window as I open it but if following a link, I have to maximize each succeeding window also.

You can select the icon for your program, right click then go to properties. In the run option you can set it to maximized. You should also be able to maximize it, then close it and the next time it starts it will be maximized

Thanks Crokett but, that works for programs that have an icon, but I'm referring to the links or favorites on my homepage that used to open maximized but now don't.
They do have a properties tab if I right click them but they don't offer a "run" option for settings.
      Maybe it's Earthlink????

I seriously doubt it's earthlink. Did you maximize you browser window then close it? That should do the trick.

You didn't say if you are using Microcrook or a quality browser. It may be a setting within the browser options.

Not to answer a question with a question, but did you upgrade to sp3 or buy a comp with it on it?
I've been getting badgered to install the update, but I've heard a lot of bad news online, such as completely losing all email, losing all photos, blue screen of death etc. Scares the **** out of me, I've been putting it off. Any comments?

              About SP3?

Had it running for over 3 months with no problems. Don't know yet how to enlarge screen for IE7 .

I have been running SP3 for a while. I upgraded with no problems. I would upgrade as soon as you can. SP3 has some significant security enhancements.

As for IE and opening links maximized, try this:

In IE, go to Tools->Internet Options-> then change the settings on Tabs to open links in a tab in the current window. Assuming the current window is maximized, then the new tabs will be.

winlogo + m - minimizes all displayed windows
winlogo + shift + m - restore all windows minimized before
winlogo + d - toggles the above two actions.

you can do a google search for windows hotkeys to see all the other hotkeys.
