Not to flame, but have you actually collected up a bunch of Armstrong interviews to show that he only says "I've never tested positive", or is that more of a "I can't remember him saying..." kind of a thing?
The test of his '99 B sample was 8 years later, the A sample tested clean, and there was no provable chain of custody for the B sample, so it's completely unknown what happened to it in the 8 years before someone decided to test it and relink it to him breaking all of the rules.
I'm not saying Armstrong is clean, I don't know, but I am saying that there is a TON of evidence showing he is, and only sketchy at best evidence to the contrary. It seems to me that people want him to have doped, maybe that would make the world feel better about his dominance in the sport.
Also, the motivation for his return is stated to be to raise awareness for his cancer foundation, which I can believe. I don't think he needs the $$$ for himself, and he's not taking the winning bonuses anyway. Again, seems like people want what should be an uplifting story to be pathetic or sad in some fashion.
As an example I don't like Tom Brady as a player, but I didn't cheer when his knee went pop, and I wouldn't revel in discovering that he's abusive or something.
