Number 1 consumable that I have to pay for is electricity. $150 a month in spring and fall $300 a month June-Aug and Dec - Feb.

The greatest DECREASE in consumables for our house was when all the kids left home for college, marriage and career. I noticed about $250.00 - $300 a month in food and utilities (heating, cooling, water, phone) decrease for each daughter as they left home. That was a big increase in salary for us but we didn't see that until after each finished college!

So our three daughters, while under our care, consumed far more than LOML and I do now.

Around here FOOD...is going to be tops on the list. We have 12 year old twins and the boy is eating everything that he can get his hands on. Gas would be the next on the list. But right now food is the big issue. I buy bread and milk every other day or so and cereal, the bags, last us about 4 days depending on the kind that I buy. Cheese is next because all of my children eat cheese like crazy .

If someone would just cover about 200 a week on groceries for us then I would be happy.

How about... gun powder . Between 5 & 6 jugs per year (30-40 pounds) just for rifle ammo
All right, breaks over. Back on your heads!

Smile when you say that, boy! Unless you're referring to those guys that live up in New England. White Clam Chowder, now who ever invented that? Huh???

Either you're one h**l of a lousy shot, or you own a couple of Ma Duces and you hate what few neighbors you have that are left.

Nah. I shoot competitively at mid and long range... which means I spend a lot of time doing load tuning and just practicing. And I coach a couple Juniors for High Power Rifle - lots and lots of practice rounds. Loading for the two juniors... probably go thru 300-400rds per month, or between 3.5-5k per year (thank god for Dillon!). For my precision .308 (conventional Prone, F-Class, and practical/tactical) ammo... I probably go thru between 2-3k per year, and for my own .223 rem uses probably another 3-4k between High Power, F-class (for the wife) and varmint. Throw in a couple other calibers here and there, and I burn through the stuff at a fair rate.

As far as being a lousy shot... well, I have good days and bad days . On my better days I shoot better than average (third one down).

Have you ever tried generic ink? That's what I use for my Epson R300 and it works great. A whole set costs ~$15 (forgot the exact price). It's not as great as original Epson ink for pics but if it's just text or the pic quality is not crucial (which is 90% of what I print) it works great.
