It looks like it's skimming past the tip of Florida/Keys, takin' on Cuba and possibly headed into the Gulf. Projected models get pretty wide after that.

I really feel for you guys. We've had 2 hurricanes (or effects from them) here this season and both of those were only = bad thunderstorms - lots of wind and rain. I know Atlanta and its environs could have used some of that rain.

It's all part of living on the coast I guess... If it weren't for my job, and the fact I am chained to a mortgage, I would be looking for work and a house WAY inland, like San Antonio or somewhere...

We did a residence in Sarasota county, FL a few years ago and incorporated powered, roll up shutters on all the exterior windows and the covered porch. Flip a couple switches, it's ready for the wind.

Learning about turtle lights and all the other coastal codes & requirements was different.

Wouldn't mind one of those Huricains coming up the West Coast and Dumping some rain on California. No signicant rain in Sacramento since mid Feb. The lakes are getting kind of empty and every thing is so dry. 7-10 inches of rain over a few would be nice and we have plenty of storage for it. The fire season as roughly 2 month to go and this is the worst time of the year The Santa Ana's will be starting soon in Southern Calif and this year could really be bad.

Extra crud out of the back seat of the truck, truck gassed up, 12 gallons of extra fuel on board, Coleman stove, lantern, Coleman Campstove drip coffee maker (I have my priorities you know!), coffee, blah blah blah. All ready to go. My FIL is dragging his feet wanting to ride it out...
