    Breaking Vegas

    Anyone watch that show. I believe it's on A&E. Just fascinating what people will come up with to "break" vegas. It's not all cheating. Alot of them are MIT type students who use their background to count cards, figure out the characteristics of roulette wheels, etc. I wonder if these guys put this much effort in finding alternative fuel, we'd be able to drive on orange juice by now. hehe

      how about the 2008 movie "21"?

      The Breaking Vegas series was based on the MIT BLackjack team which inspired the book "Bringing Down the House" which was the basis for "21". Starring Jim Sturgess, Kevin Spacey, lawrence Fishburne and Kate Bosworth.

      I enjoyed the movie.

          The level of effort and ingenuity put into cheats and playing systems is commensurate with the potential profit. That, and the fact that the numbers favor the "house" (always have, and always will), so players not wishing to contribute to that are always looking for an edge. The casinos will do anything legal to separate you from your money, including high-tech surveillance, ID and info-sharing methods, and they operate with the mindset that everybody is out to cheat them. I am in the inter-casino database network as a card-counter (even though I don't). Card counting is not illegal, but casinos can refuse action to whomever they chose, which is also not illegal. I rarely am allowed to play any more...

              I was a "flash card" counter in kindergarten.
