I put a new Robbins ragtop on my 1992 Miata. My wife and I spent most of Saturday working on it but we completed it about 4PM and saved ourselves $500 by doing it ourselves.
What did you do over the 3 day weekend

I gotta hand it to ya for doing that. I had a Jag XK 150S years ago, that needed pretty much everything and I had to make new bows, and ordered a kit top for it. Got frustrated and took it to an upholsterer and he did a great job.
Saturday, had to do a shed rearrangement to get the generator out. This is the storm season in South Florida, and I'm lucky so far this summer. Today did a service on it and it's all locked up. Tomorrow, plan to take all the shrouding off and try to use a wrench to turn the crank. If that don't loosen it up, it goes to a shop on Tuesday.

Tried to give my rear end some extra spread by sitting on it all weekend. Includes cutting the grass because it's a riding mower.Comment

On Saturday: Worked a little on the drainage project in my side yard.
Finished a small gift and gave it to friends who host the annual Labor Day party for a large group of friends. Oh yeah, I also attended said party.
Sunday: Slept in after the Saturday party.
For the first time in probably 20 years, attended the WEBN fireworks. Which meant from 4 pm on, hanging around a friend of a friends RV in a parking lot eating and drinking.
About 8:30 we meandered the four blocks down to the flood wall (Kentucky side of the river for the first time) to squeeze in and watch the 20 minute show ( with about 400,000 other folks) which started about 9:10. Pretty amazing show
Monday: Get motivated to do something. Spent another hour working on the drainage project, no more digging just "mining" through the rock. Finished the major garage clean up and organization that I started a week ago. I needed to make sure there is plenty of room as I am preparing for a few months of work on the Jeep Wrangler since I will have a car to drive for a couple months once son heads to college and daughter does not have license , yet. And I pretty much finished the potting bench my wife didn't know that she needed.

Worked Saturday and made a light grocery store run in the evening. Spent the better part of the afternoon today doing a detail cleaning and rearranging of the back porch. Got about an hour's work left in the morning to finish up and then have to get on the mower. I edged last weekend so it should only take about 3 hours to mow and after that I should have 3-4 hours for the shop.Don, aka Pappy,

It all started on Friday! I was thickens planning sever al pieces of rough cut white oak and walnut. When I say rough cut it is very rough. I started to plane a 6” wide, 12’ long and approximately 3” thick piece of white oak. All went well for the first couple boards. I picked up the next one measured the thickness, reset the planer with plenty of tolerance and started the board through. The first 11& ½ feet went smoothly; the last 6” jammed in the planner and broke the belt.
So with the thickness planer done I started to joint several of the boards I had planed. Again all went well until I picked up a piece salvaged barn oak. I promptly ran the side with 5 nails through the jointer.
All the nails hit about the same spot on the blade. Then the LOML pulled up an announced the front wheel bearing is going out on my car. She had taken it to get the brakes checked and they diagnosed the problem.
With that news I stopped, cleaned up and quit for the day.
Saturday, I picked up the new AP10 (Ryobi Thickness Planer) drive belt and installed said belt on the machine. Changed the blades and cleaned up the planer. Took the car for a second opinion and then back to the first shop for repair. Dropped it off and picked it up later.
Sunday I removed the damaged blades from the jointer, cleaned up the machine and placed the spare set of sharp blades in the machine. I realized I didn’t have a dial indicator or a magnetic base, and thought it would be a perfect time to add one to the collection of rarely used tools in my shop. And remembering the newly opened HF in the vicinity I made the trip, no magnetic bases. Off to Tommy the Who’s musical this evening. I have had my dose of culture for the next couple of months.
Hope Monday brings a better day.Often in error - Never in doubt

Worked short handed Friday. Got up Saturday to go somewhere and called my father who also wanted to go. He didn't get done what he needed to for mom's birthday party, so that got canceled, and I got to listen to all the screaming nieces and nephews. Worked Sunday again, and am headed in a few minutes.
Weeks END?She couldn't tell the difference between the escape pod, and the bathroom. We had to go back for her.........................Twice.Comment

Spent most of Saurday and yesterday cleaning out the POD so they can pick it up Wednesday (saves me an extra month's rent.) Now I've got a garage full of stuff that I have to re-arrange so I've got space to build the cabinets to store all said stuff.
Something tells me my planning lacked something

Saturday I went flying and got the Vigor trimmed out real nice with the 5 blade head. Even with the breeze that came up I got it trimmed out for a few seconds of hands off hovering.
Yesterday we were preparing for a visit from Gustav and today, we are listening to the weather radio go off with tornado warninings. I think for us, the worse is over, but it's still pretty ugly looking outside.Larry R. Rogers

Spent the weekend in the shop working on three vanities. Did take time out to watch the Nascar race Sunday evening.
Now listening to the Winter Weather Advisory we have (Monday morning). Sounds like the mountaintops will be getting up to 5" of snow today, sounds like a good start to archery season which begins next Saturday.

We had a three day weekend?
Ants are attacking the wood flooring of my shop so I moved everything out of my 9 X 12 shed and reframed the floor. Put all kinds of ant killer in and on top of the dirt and then started re-flooring. Not finished yet but Everything is back inside temporarily due to rain. Hope to finish it soon so that I can start some projects.Hank Lee

Worked Friday and Saturday 6am to 6pm, then again Sunday night 6pm to 6am. Today I made a crude table for my wife's kindergarten class to do artwork on. The family barbequed some dinner tonight and did a little light yard work....that's all I had in me.
