    Looky what I found

    I have been up in Minnesota the past two weeks at my in-laws cabin on the lake. Part of their property is undeveloped forest along the shoreline in which we can take the kids on tractor rides. We noticed a big burl (approx 24"w36"hx18d) I forgot to take a picture of it in the tree but here is what I was able to get off. The pictures don't do it justice but the grain is spectacular. During the process of harvesting it, I came across a mouse nest inside the big hollow. I saw the mom come down the tree so I backed off and let her move the newborn kids further up the tree. It was pretty neat to watch. I'll post pictures as I consume it

      cool! the top two look like goats. the top left looks like a section of the goat along the length without the legs. the top middle looks like a goat head and neck. maybe its just my eyes

                              there a two tress that I can think of that have a really big burl growing on them. I want to buy a chainsaw and get them some time in the middle of the night.
