I Sense a Disturbance In The Force

Working from home today cause the sitter is sick. I was asked to cover a ticket for another guy that 'should be routine'.

The last time I WFH on Friday because the sitter is sick I was asked to cover a ticket for another guy that 'should be routine'. It ended up going all the way to VP level and I almost had to travel. Had flights booked but then it was cancelled.

The time before that I WFH on Friday because the sitter's daughter was sick I was asked to cover a ticket for another guy that 'should be routine'. It ended up going all the way to VP level and then I had to fly to Cleveland on Sunday.

Some day I will learn to say no.

How about you be proactive this time and schedule a call with your VP rightaway...?

I don't think it is a disturbance in the force, sounds like a routine procedure to me.

            1. Sitter or sitters kid's sick
            2. WFH Friday
            3. Cover a routine ticket
            4. Talk to VP
            5. Plan Travel
            6. Visit client site
            7 Repeat
Often in error - Never in doubt

              Hmm, this sounds fishy.

Is the sitter acquainted with any of your co-workers?

              Follow the money...

Getting volunteered for someone elses stuff. The very thing that annoys me at work.

"Oh this will just take a few minutes" or "I arranged for you to take care of this"

3 hours later, a few toasted brain cells and a climb in blood pressure...

So, you only have to get on an airplane and fly someplace when the sitter is sick? When my grandson's sitter is sick, I have to throw my own commitments out the window and go spend 11 hours at my ex-wife's house to cover for her... (did it yesterday, doing it again today). Wanna trade?

It seems rather fishy that the sitter or family gets sick often on Friday's.

                        LOL

When the casinos moved into my home county about 14 years ago, they would pay on Friday and have 1/4 of the work force not show up on the weekend. At a meeting with county supervisors, casino management asked what kind of workers we had in the midsouth.

One farmer/supervisor offered the same solution: DON'T pay on Friday, Pay on Monday! It worked!

Nah. She was sick yesterday too. The other two times was a different sitter anyway. The call I was asked to cover did turn out to be routine, but the one I was asked to cover when I got to the office was not.

And actually I haven't paid her yet - was gonna do that yesterday.
