Use the shop vac for cleaning all the time. Have also used the Dremel type on the dog's nails. Works pretty good once he gets use to the sound.

The Dremel with a sanding drum works great on my wife's toe nails. Yes, I did it.

Dog nails too. Dremel sells one for the purpose at a much higher price, but the cheap cordless one from Lowe's works just fine.

It doesn't totally gum up the wheels or other components? I understand it's frozen but doesn't the friction from the blade melt some of the meat? Did the turkey have a saw dust flavor?

I cleaned the saw before and after. Turkey tasted fine but the more important part Shop did not gain a fowl odor because of rotting turkey dust. I must have got it all!

Utility knife, needlenose pliers, and wire cutters for opening toys packaged in China. See Loring's thread about blister packs for details.

I also use needle nose pliers to remove bones from salmon fillets. I used to use tweezers, but the grip of the pliers works MUCH better. But my toolbox now smells more like a tackle box.

One that shouldn't be tried is to use a belt sander on calluses. Can get outta hand quickly. DAMHIKT.

I have a very small corded shopvac from Sears that has a standard 2" hose (rather than that useless 1-1/4"er). It's perfect for pulling snake poop outta Ms. Baby's enclosure. So, you might say it does a sh**ty job...

Absolutely! I too use the shop vac for cleaning the hardwood floors. The wide brush attachment does a much better job and I don't have to worry about scratching like the upright floor vac might do.

Another use is clearing the kitchen drain. I can't tell you how many times I used it to clear grease, veggy scraps out of the drain.

I've never used any of my tools for food processing though... well, actually my little short flat blade screw driver works well for punching holes in the juice cans... but other than that, No.

Putty knife works well for all kinds of chores and I've used my buffer to put a gloss on the shower stall.

Coming in a little late here but a few years ago wife & I are on Prince Edward Island vacationing & were invited to spend the night at a friends cottage. The main course for dinner was lobster. After several minutes without luck searching for a claw cracker I suggested pliers. I never leave home without a toolbox. They sterilized a set of needle nose & electrical pliers plus a hammer. We still get a laugh out of that meal.

A sheet rock screw and a pair of pliers works as a corkscrew around our house. The kitchen is not as organized as the garage so it's easier to find.

Shop vac for deep cleaning carpets. I think this is a scam, by LOML, to get me to vacuum.

I have a designated pair of needlenose pliers for fish bones. They are stainless steel and can go in the dishwasher.

I also use a dead blow hammer that JR made and gave to me, in the kitchen. Flattens chicken breast or veal for piccata, between layers of saran wrap. Crushes peppercorns and fennel seeds etc.

I pack a Leatherman. It comes in handy for times like that, cause ya never know. The Army got me used to stuff hanging off my exterior. Good thing that belt sanders don't have a belt clip.
