    Virus ?

I know I have had and probably still do have a virus. I have some questions, is it possible

to infect a game like solitare? Another ? is I have to log on on every page on this forum to

read or post to it. Of course I have to be logged in to see the pictures, so I have to do

that. I have cookies enabled so I don't know what to do about the login ?, does anyone

have any ideas? On startup I have to go to Taskmanager to get desktop icons to show,

    that is wierd, Thanks, Bill

Some changes in behavior to your browser (having to login, etc.) could be due to security software you've installed to try to get rid of the virus.

        Go to
        http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html

Download it and run a scan. If it finds something it can remove it. It is totally free and has been around forever.

Here are some others that also are free and been around a long time. I use all of them and more. If you need to be sure of their use and free of spyware or maleware go to www.downloads.com

        http://www.download.com/Ad-Aware-200...-10045910.html

        http://dnl.spywareterminator.com/ins...FR8cagodwnXvrg

There are more just take a look around downloads.com and cnet.com

Have you got antivirus software running on the machine? If not, try AVG http://free.avg.com/ww.download-avg-...s-free-edition and remember to update it daily. If you already have AV software running on your PC, remember: don't run more than oone at a time. They don't play well together.

Try running a scandisk on your computer. It can find bad sections and sometimes fix screwed up things on your computer.

It also can be a registry problem and you might have to buy a program as I haven't been able to find a free one I would trust. Most registry programs will give you a free scan but won't fix the problems until you buy it from them.

              You can try
              http://www.ccleaner.com/

It can also help with the registry but don't really know how much it really helps in the registry. It is however also a good program to use.

              Good luck
