    Adding insult to injury

    http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2008/...n4296215.shtml

He doesn't get any points for marksmanship.

    Let's add this up:

Cost of having fox bite treated in ER: $300 (at least)

Cost of getting rabies vaccine: $2500 (I'm not making this up--it's $500 per each of 5 shots, first dose of immune globulin is about 1-2 tsp of liquid and pretty painful)

Cost of having gunshot wound to leg treated: $1000-3000 (this is a guess depending on whether bone was hit, etc.--if surgery required you can triple or quadruple this; if infection sets in, what's your annual limit on care per your insurance company??)

Cost of being able to hold this over your husband's head for the next 50 years: priceless

    here's where they went wrong:

The couple told deputies they had spotted an animal in their yard Friday morning and went outside to see what it was.

Some people, when they spot trouble, should just lock the door and stay inside.

I agree Loring. I bet they did not tell the whole story. They were probably poking at it with a stick because they thought its teeth were "purdy".

I'm with Loring on this. Wild animals are fun to watch, but only from a distance. We occasionally have raccoons, skunks and possums appear, plus plenty of squirrels. They stay outside and we stay inside.

I wonder if they'd have been as anxious to take a closer look at a 'gator?

The cats who live here but sometimes act as if they're waiting for prey under the acacia tree are a special exception

            you have a twisted mind.

I'm sure there was a "hold my beer and watch this" involved somewhere. We need pictures of them to confirm this.

Wait 'til they find out the fox in question was really trained by the husband, and was killed so he couldn't talk to authorities.
