We talked about taking a REALLY long working lunch up to Snook. I think it's somewhere near Bryan / College Station area...

      Larryl, is that near you?

Sounds good to me but I would have to have a couple eggs on the side.

My body is shaking and quaking for a "fix" after seeing that. Got to HAVE that. . . some day.

When I lived in Louisiana, just SW of N.O., an 80 year old neighbor came home from the doctor all mad. I asked him, "Mr. Johnny, why are you all mad looking?
Mr. Johnny: Da docta tol' me if I didn't stop eatin' all my (cajun) spicy food, I was gonna die. I tol' da docta dat if I couldn't eat my spicy food, I wanna die. I'm 80 already an food is da only pleasure I got left." "Ladee, (his wife), she listen to da Doc so I ain' gonna get my spicy food any more."

Mr. Johnny was right - nothing like Cajun and Creole food. Everybody down there knows how to cook. Hank, where did you live down there? I was in LaPlace and worked in Reserve. Rode my bike to Vacherie quite a bit and had a girlfriend in Westwego.

4 years in Raceland - near Thibodaux and Houma. Recently I met a fellow in Tokyo who was from LA. He asked me if I had found any REAL cajun food in Japan. (Several restaurants offer a dish or two with a cajun name but it is NOT cajun.) I replied to the fellow - OF course. He asked "Where?" I replied "At my house!" LOML is from NO and we bring plenty of cajun spices with us every time we come back to Japan.

Still, I WANT a meal of that Battered Country Fried Bacon! Looks DELICIOUS!

By the way Chris, My hometown is Tunica, not too far from you. I will probably look up a Japanese friend or two in the New Albany area just after the new Toyota plant goes into production there in 2010. We will return home in December of 2010 for retirement. Our neighborhood here in Toyota City is filled with mid level management and engineers for TMC.

Great! That gives me two and half years to get my shop to look like Rod Kirby's! Maybe with all that Vespa action he'll let his slip and I came catch a little. Seriously, looking forward to meeting you.
