Something's not right. "Introduced them to his wife" ??? A wild lioness would never exhibit that behavior. Period. There is something rotten in Denmark.

I agree with Uncle Cracker. My BS detector went off when viewing that.

              Still, it's a nice story.

It's a nice, touching story, but I've seen lions and other large predators in the wild (usually protected by a vehicle) and I agree there's something not right here. Even "tame" cats are dangerous.

Those folks were lucky they weren't eaten by the wife. In lion prides, the males may think they're the boss but it's the females that hunt.

That's exactly what I thought when I saw that part. I decided to see if snopes had anything to say about it. The story, according to them, is true. They have the video available on their site, but it doesn't show "his wife" being introduced. Here's a link: http://www.snopes.com/photos/animals/christian.asp

May I suggest you start with a smaller house cat

Nice story but I don't want that cat hugging me (I would **** my pants)

It is the females that do the hunting but it is the males that they hunt for. When a male moves into a pride, the male will often kill any offspring of another male and also any female of the pride if they don't cow down to him. The male is usually considerably larger and more powerful than the female, but I didn't see it in that pict.
