Removing Tide from a car seat

Since I can't exactly remove the cloth truck seat and run it through the washing machine..

Anyone ever get any (or rather a LOT) spilled on a vehicle seat? I found out, then notified the store, who found out that some Schmuck, or kid, decided it would be fun to loosen all the caps on the Tide bottles in the store.

I tried carpet shampoo last night, and the small spots came up, but not the large one.
She couldn't tell the difference between the escape pod, and the bathroom. We had to go back for her.........................Twice.

I would be livid. After cleaning up a mess like that I would have to clean the rest of my truck also because one clean spot would make the rest of it look soooo much worse.

Have you tried an upholstery cleaner, a mechanical one with vacuum extraction?
A shop vac and repeated wettings might pull it out.

Alright, you need to rinse it out totally, do not add any more cleaners, shampoos or otherwise. Foaming will be an issue if you use a shop vac or carpet extractor. A little bit of rubbing alcohol sucked into the hose, NOT on the seat, will help keep the foam under control. You will need to add hot water to the spot several times and keep sucking it back up. The color will dissipate, and the foam will get less and less. Hope this helps.

Actually, you *CAN* remove the cloth seat upholstry, wash it, and reinstall it, but that is a pain in the tail...

I have had something similar happen in the past, and I used one of those rental steam machines and cleaned the interior without using any soap. It came out fine.

The Carpet Doctor anti foam additive will help with keeping the foaming under control...

Since Tide is a detergent, get it real wet and use this...no kidding.
