    This Is Absolute Junk

I maintain a P.O. Box for my consultation work, and I went to pick up mail yesterday and the box lock was pinned. Thought I forgot to pay the bill. Stood in line to get to a clerk and found out it was locked because this stack of junk was inside.

I've tried many avenues to keep the junk mail out, but no way. USPS gets paid to stuff that krap in there. This is what was there after 2 weeks.

Too bad the PO doesn't offer a spam filter. Charge the bulk mailer to send it straight to the recycler.

Trust me when I say we don't want to deliver it, either.

I have a friend who opens all the mail and sends the junk mail back with every envelope that leaves the house.

I am not patient enough for that.

I've used the return envelopes for similar purposes before.....I don't have to patience or time to be diligent about it though.

A friend of mine had a bunch of 1/8" and 3/16" steel plate left over and he had his own shear so he cut them up to sizes to fit envelopes and sends those back to the companies with a note explaining to them he hates receiving junk mail and if they are going to cost him the time it takes to sort through it then he is going to raise their costs in postage. Now THAT is patience. hehe

We have to collect our mail at the post office. They have supplied a paper recycle box right there. The junk never comes home.

It's unfortunate that the direct mail industry has so many congress-critters in their back pocket. Junk mail should cost more to send than regular mail. That'd stop it real quick.
