    Cordless Screwdriver recommendation

I have a Craftsman (Black & Decker) 3.6 v VersaPak "pencil type" screwdriver. One of my batteries died. The last time I bought a battery the cost was about as much as a new screwdriver. This one is ok but kind of wimpy. Still, it is awfully handy for all kinds of things when using my 14.4 or 18v cordless drills would be overkill. I've had some of the real cheapies that I have thrown away after the first use. Anyone have a suggestion for a cheap replacement (under $40)?

Orchard Supply, a local hardware chain (that was owned by Sears for a while) has a nice 3.6v cordless for less than $20. Not necessarily for driving screws into wood but very usable (and very rugged - I've dropped mine twice already). It's likely a generic tool made in China that has the house brand label pasted on so you may be able to find it elsewhere.

I got one of these at Lowes, it is kind of light duty for a drill but a pretty good driver. It uses the quick change bits and the handle can be set in several positions including straight out.

If you are looking for cheap, this skil lithium driver is at my local costco. I couldnt find the link at costco but here is one to just show the tool.

          http://www.toolsforless.com/product/9692.html

Its currently $29 with an instant $10 rebate - net $19. I got one when it was $10 more. It has an electronic clutch which is a bit weired. I just took advantage of the bosch offer on the I-Driver with a free PS20 they are far superior so I took the skil back to costco.

If you want cheap the skil fits the bill, if you want good then get the Bosch.
