Crockett, check here there may be some options to set it up to your liking... I assume you are seeing the "this session only" option, but the "originating site only" option is mentioned, the combination of the two may give you some extra control.

It's for firefox2 but the settings are still listed in about:config

The cookies thing is mostly because I've discovered that if I disallow cookies as a default and then allow the ones I want, some sites I visit won't work even if I allow a cookie for that site. They just tell me cookies need to be enabled.

I've been using it since the start of betas, and I love it. I've also had no problems with gmail.

Thanks Jon! I had not even known that it was available. I downloaded and installed last night. Seems to be smoking right along.

Installed FF3 this morning. So far it seems much quicker at rendering pages than FF2. It has my approval, for whatever that is worth.
If you can read this you assembled wrong.

You can download a free (just register first) color management plug-in for FF3. I think it really does make a difference for viewing pictures.

I doubt I will need to get into about:config to spruce things up. I am certainly amazed with how quickly it renders pages and having a ton of tabs open does not seem to slow it down the way it did in Version 2.
Thanks to your post, I downloaded it last night and WOW!
                  Performance is MUCH faster.

I'd still rather use it than IE, which has many vulnerabilities as well. This is not the end of the world, and expect a fix to be available within a week or two (that Firefox will prompt you to automatically install).

So you're sensationalizing security threats to 14 million computers that already existed if the users were running previous versions of FF (which most probably were). Not saying that it's not worth reporting or that it isn't serious and should be addressed, just that the manner of reporting here makes it sound like people who downloaded FF 3 are at greater risk now than they were with previous versions - which isn't true at all. With these particular reported threats, the risk is identical, but there are numerous other security issues that were successfully addressed in the upgrade from FF2 to FF3. Please don't oversensationalize like this.
