Home Again & all is well

... so far. Had surgery to place a stent in my aortic aneurysm yesterday. 2 1/2 hour procedure which I of course don't remember thanks to anesthesia. Felt fine afterwards. The 2 small incision sites don't hurt at all. Know what does hurt?

My low back - operating tables are hard.

And "down there" where they shaved! Burns like @#$%^! I am so glad men don't get shaved for bikinis (or do they? Not that I'd wear one at my age anyway.) Can't wait until the hair grows back!

Anyway, I get a checkup in 3 weeks with another CT scan. All should be well.

Thanks for all the prayers and thoughts, folks! Really appreciate it!

Great news. We've been on tenterhooks here. The wonders of modern medicine.

How about some pictures. You know the rules. I just knew you would prevail. Can't believe you're "on" so soon, you shoulda taken 30 minutes off.

If you need something, and I can make it, I'll run it over...like a bedpan. I'll bet that when you came out of anesthesia, your first words were...BT3, BT3.

Get well quick and it's good to hear from you.

Glad to see you back and glad to know that all went well. I hope the rest of your recovery is speedy. Take it easy, even though I bet you want to get back in the shop ASAP.

That is REALLY good news, Paul. Here's hoping that unmentionable itch proves to be the worst of your troubles in the days ahead.

Memory metal ... amazing. If they had any stint left over, you could use it the keep the dust collection tubing open as well.

                      Great to see you back!

You do need to take it easy for a few days though. Where they cut you open to insert the stent will takes several days to really heal. But ain't that anesthesia some wonderful stuff?! When they did my stents, I told them no way did I want to be awake, but you don't get what you always want, so I had to settle for the stuff that erases you memory or some such stuff. But great to see you back in action (limited of course), and take it easy, Sir....

                        See,

All our prayers did help. Not to mention that good guys always win.

Nice to have you back (in one piece)

Extremely glad to see you are home. Now.. quit moaning and groaning about the "itch down there" as it's minor. If you want a major down there go get a vasectomy. It doesn't hurt at all.. but waiting 30 days after-wards until you can...... well... never mind and cut the gripe.

With all seriousness.. good to see you back doing things we're supposed to be doing everyday...

                          Regards...

Glad your back and all went well. I go in July for the next sonogram for mine. How long will you be laid up? If I have to have the surgery, non stint, I am asking for 6 pack Abs at the same time. Told that to my GP and she just laughed. Take care and get back in the shop and office.

Now you can worry about serious things, like whether someone in the OR took any embarrassing pictures of you on their cellphone and posted them on the net...
